June 27th, at BridgePort

We arrived on the 26th after a 4.5 hour drive from St. Thomas. It normally takes about 3 hours but the traffic was backed up from the 407 onramp until Barrie. There was an accident earlier and we crawled most of the way.

The first thing we noticed was the new fence and grass, mostly green. It looks great and things are generally ship-shape at BridgePort. How about that new routered edge on the bridge railing!!!

June 27th was a beautiful day, weather-wise, and there were lots of activities to keep us busy.

Saturday morning was a general cleanup of about a foot of pollen and then it was Courtesy Check time and we were swarmed by Power Squadron Volunteers sporting some fine Shirts that I'm sure we paid for. Our gal argued back and forth with her husband, doing the boat next to us, and was very thorough. We passed!!!!...and thanks should go to Skyline for a great setup last year.

Next came the BoatSmart Exam. We met Cam at his booth at the Dock Store and he made the process quite pleasant...but not cheap. It is now $63.00 compared to the original $25, I think. It'll likely be $100 by September 15th and where is goes from there is anybody's guess. I doubt that this card is a one time thing...it's easy money and what can we do about it???

So Kudos to Kyle, Diedra, and the swarm of young people who worked hard to make it all happen....Alan
